Oh Martha. You’ve done it again.

Matzo S’mores may just be the most perfect Passover food ever created.

    Matzo
    Chocolate chips
    Chocolate bars
    Marshmallows

Break matzo into squares and place in a single layer on baking sheet. Place marshmallows in a single layer on a sheet pan lined with parchment. Broil 1 minute til toasted - watch carefully so they don’t burn. Place chocolate chips in microwave safe bowl and cook on high in microwave, in 30-second intervals, stirring in between til melted. Drizzle melted chocolate on top of matzo squares with spoon. Refrigerate til set, about 5 minutes. Layer uncoated side each matzo square with a piece of chocolate and a toasted marshmallow. Top with another matzo square, drizzle side up and serve.

You’re single because you’re single. It’s not because you texted too much or too little or waited 33 minutes to respond because he took 23. It’s not because you met up with your ex that night at 5 a.m. that no one knows about, or because you kissed another boy after a date with a loser.

You’re not single because you spit food on that date or tripped coming out the the movie theatre. You’re not single because you hurt your first boyfriend really badly when you were 15 or because you have yet, to this day, to apologize. It’s not because you were secretly jealous when your friend got a boyfriend or that a guy you dated for two months now has a really cute girlfriend and looks really happy. And you’re happy for him. But still ill that he found someone before you.

You’re not single because you slept with your ex boyfriend. You’re not single because half the world found out when you didn’t even want to remember it yourself. You’re not single because you think the guy your friend wants to hook you up with is ugly or not tall enough. It’s not because you’re not willing to put up with someone who doesn’t brush their teeth on a regular basis.

You’re not single because your standards are too high. Good for you for having standards. It’s not because you didn’t like that really, really good guy who wanted to take you on a date and you just weren’t feeling it. And it’s not because you like to wear pajama pants as soon as you get home and wash all the makeup off your face. You’re not single because you didn’t learn enough from the past or would rather chill on a Friday night with your blanket and a cold beer than shower, get ready, and go out. You’re not single because something is wrong with you.

You are single because you are single. It’s really as simple as that. You haven’t made the connection with another heart yet. You can get dolled up, dress cute, cut your hair, dye your hair, tweeze your eyebrows, put on lipstick and you may still. be. single. You can go out to a bar hoping to meet the love of your life and not find a damn one in the place attractive. And it’s going to remain that way until it’s time for you to find one. Stop hoping for it. Start living the life that you do have instead of wishing for things that you don’t have. There will come a time you’ll meet a boy and you’ll have to give up some of this single freedom you currently have. Start being more thankful. Start doing that now.

    Are you pushing “play” today?

    MOVE please.

I could tell you it’s about your goals. Give you some rhetoric about “not quitting” or “busting through excuses”. Provide you with random numbers supposedly representing the calories you may or may not have eaten. Guilt trip you with images of really fit women, looking bad ass and happy and tell you to BE like them. I could go on and on and on with the “reasons” you should move today. But NONE of them are the reason I want you to.

Move today. Because you’ll feel GOOD. Better than now. Amazing, even. You’ll be a happier person. Less stressed out. You might find yourself smiling more. Maybe get a boost of confidence. And WOAH… you might have FUN. Remember fun? Fun is FUN!

I don’t care about the calories you’re burning, how it fits in with your goals, or your plan for flat abs. But I do care how you FEEL. And moving today is a surefire way to FEEL awesome. All the other stuff is a bonus and something you can get back to whenever you please.

10 minutes. A walk. A DVD. A video online (ask me, I’ll send you TONS). A dance party. A game on the Wii. Yoga. Stretching. Sports .

Trust me now. Thank me later.

  8. Disgusted…

I always knew that in order to fully commit to becoming healthy I’d have to hit the ultimate low. This is my decision that this is it. I no longer need to suffer in my own disgust at myself, my eating habits, my body. I have the power to change my own behavior….at hard as it will be, I must do it.

I want to use this post as a reminder that I am going to change, 204.7 might just be a number but it is one that disgusts me, and I must make this decision in order to live the life I want for myself.
